Matthew Lawrence Pwajok
Matthew Lawrence Pwajok is a seasoned aviation professional with over 35 years of experience spanning airspace management, regulatory oversight, and operational leadership in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
He served as Acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) from 2022 to 2023, where he led major modernization initiatives, including the implementation of satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS), deployment of Category III Instrument Landing Systems (ILS), advancement of free routing airspace, and upgrades to national radar and navigational infrastructure.
Prior to this role, he held several senior leadership positions, including Director of Operations at NAMA and General Manager roles in Air Navigation Standards at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Safety Management Systems at NAMA.
Mr. Pwajok began his career as an air traffic controller and has since built a reputation for driving operational efficiency, safety, and innovation across Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Jos and an MBA from the University of Calabar.
With deep expertise in aviation systems, safety management, and strategic operations, he brings strong leadership and industry insight to executive roles within the airline sector.
